360 Degree Leadership by John C. Maxwell

Summary of my takeaways from John C. Maxwell.  He has great, easy to remember bite-sized pieces of wisdom.  They make sense. One could even say "Oh, I knew that" or "That just makes sense." However, to hold them all in one's head and apply them creates a grand platform from which to move ahead. Why think about leadership?  Because we are all leaders in our sphere of influence. Do well. Others count on me. I think about leadership because it is a learned skill. For me, having it broken down into small pieces allows me to visualize the process of leading others by leading oneself first. Know where I am -- then I am able to get to where I want to go. Be a Can-Do Person. Get wins under my belt -- especially at the beginning to keep going after what works. For Women Only: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men

It is Thursday today... On Wednesday evening of this week, I was talking with a friend about how I want to be more available to my husband, but I really do not understand what his life is about, what he seeks and needs in a wife. How can I give what I am not asked for? Then Shaunti Feldhahn's book "For Women Only: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men" jumped out as one of the books I have. On Monday morning of this week, I had told another friend about a book I was reading about was such a help to live in the present moment and find joy there (as opposed to allowing worry for the future or regret for the past to crowd out my awareness of the present moment). She  seemed interested in the book, so I mentioned I could write about some of my takeaways from the book. She encouraged me to do that, and so came about the seed for Blog-a-book.
